Could you install Windows on a flash drive, SD card or even an iPod?
Posted by admin in 16GB USB Flash on May 5th, 2010
Say your laptop crashed and your operating system was damaged and the only way to recover your laptop was to wipe the hard drive and re-install your OS, but you still have lots of important files on the hard drive you need to keep, but since there’s no way to repair the OS, would it be possible to install it on a flash drive and then use another flash drive to put all the files on? Like, say I were to install Windows 7 on a 4GB flash drive and then put all the files I recover from the hard drive onto another flash drive, or even an iPod, would this be possible? Or say I had a 16GB iPod and I used it as a USB drive and installed Windows on it. You know when you go to do a custom installation of Windows 7 and there’s a selection to load your drive drivers? What if you put drivers for your flash drive on the flash drive? Would the drivers show up?
What do you think? Is this possible?
